A leading Insurance house is searching for Legal Advisor to manage the relationship between the Company and the Long-term Insurance Ombud, the Short-term Insurance Ombud, Statutory Ombud and the FAIS Ombud.
Outputs:
-
Receive and record all Ombud matters
-
Investigate all Ombud matters in conjunction with the relevant area/s of the business, appropriately attending to matters
-
Coordinate and follow-up on all matters received from an Ombud ensuring timeframes are met by the Business Units and Administrators
-
Keep a register on all Ombud matters
-
Analyse Ombud complaints received in order to identify trends and potential business risks
-
Report back to business on trends and risks identified in order to address error cause removal
-
Develop, manage and deliver on Service Level Agreements with internal business partners
-
Manage Ombud fees and effectively monitor matters to avoid penalties
-
Represent The Company at SAIA/OSTI quarterly liaison meetings
-
Assist Business Units with decisions on claims and ad hoc decisions on policies
-
Participate in claims forums and an internal complaint resolution committee
Qualification(s)
Work Experience
-
5 years of experience in the Insurance Industry
-
3 years of experience in the same or a similar role
-
Claims experience
-
Long term and short insurance experience
Knowledge
-
Rules of Short Term Ombud, Long Term Ombud and FAIS Ombud
-
Rules of respective alternative dispute resolution bodies
-
General knowledge of the financial services and insurance industry
-
Sound general business acumen
