A CV is a powerful marketing tool and your first contact with a prospective employer.

When compiling your CV consider the following:

• Reason for compiling the document (Think of potential aspirations and future achievements)
• Provide prospective interviewees with relevant information that would attract them to your CV
• Compile your CV while considering the job specification
• Do not use long paragraphs or storyline descriptions
• Be specific and use short, easy to read bullet point descriptions (People generally like to asses a CV at first glance)
• A neat, professional presentation
• Use the same font and format throughout the CV
• Use a simple font and layout (Less is more)
• Make certain that there are an equal amount of spaces between different sections and headings
• Make certain that all bullets are aligned
• Always check for grammar and spelling
• Never copy more than one company on your CV in one email!
